Tom’s photography has been featured by BBC News as part of their coverage of conflict and humanitarian crises. During the Gaza war (when foreign press access was highly restricted), Tom was one of the few photographers on the ground, providing crucial imagery and reports to outlets like the BBC podchaser.com. For instance, he accompanied MedGlobal doctors during a mission in late 2023, and BBC News highlighted their firsthand accounts of Gaza’s malnutrition crisis, drawing on Tom’s photos and observations from inside hospital (While these BBC features were often on TV or social media, they demonstrate that Tom’s Gaza work reached a global audience via the BBC.)

RTÉ

Ireland’s national broadcaster RTÉ profiled Tom Lewendon in a segment of the Drivetime radio program on December 19, 2024 . In this in-depth interview, Tom discussed his experiences as a press photographer in both Ukraine and Gaza. RTÉ introduced him as “one of the only photographers in the world embedded twice in Ukraine & twice in Gaza in 2024,” emphasizing how unique his frontline access was. CNN

Lewendon’s work has also appeared on CNN. In June 2024, a CNN segment on the Gaza humanitarian crisis (with Dr. Sanjay Gupta) used one of Lewendon’s photographs, explicitly noting during the broadcast This indicates that CNN incorporated his Gaza imagery into their coverage. His contributions provided CNN with frontline visuals from Gaza’s hospitals and communities.

 

Público Portugal

The Portuguese newspaper Público published a dedicated interview/feature about Tom’s work in Gazaground.news.
